What Are the monday.com Dashboard Limits?
Quick answer
A monday.com dashboard holds up to 30 widgets (text widgets do not count) and up to 20,000 items, subitems and linked items across its connected boards. Connected boards per dashboard depend on the plan: 1 on Free, 5 on Standard, 20 on Pro and 50 on Enterprise. Past 3,000 items it switches to a faster engine automatically.

Key takeaways
- One dashboard can hold up to 30 widgets. Text widgets are not counted toward that limit (monday.com help article edited May 27, 2026, checked Oct 22, 2026).
- The total across all boards connected to a dashboard is capped at 20,000 items, subitems and linked items. Past it, monday.com shows a message asking you to disconnect boards.
- Connected boards per dashboard depend on the plan the article names: Free 1, Standard 5, Pro 20, Enterprise 50.
- Enterprise accounts on mondayDB 2.0 can have up to 500K items per dashboard for Chart, Battery and Numbers widgets, but Gantt, Timeline, Workload and Table widgets stay at 20K (mondayDB 2.0 article edited May 19, 2026).
- Dashboards with 3,000 or more items that use only supported widgets are automatically moved to a higher-performance engine, and a notice appears when it happens.
A monday.com dashboard has three hard ceilings: 30 widgets, 20,000 items across all connected boards, and a number of connected boards that depends on the plan (1 on Free, 5 on Standard, 20 on Pro, 50 on Enterprise). Text widgets do not count toward the 30. Beyond 3,000 items, a dashboard that uses only supported widgets moves to a faster engine on its own.
Checked Oct 22, 2026 against monday.com’s help article “The Dashboards” (edited May 27, 2026). We did not build a test dashboard. One limit to note: the article names Free, Standard, Pro and Enterprise tiers and does not say how monday CRM’s Basic, Standard, Pro and Ultimate plans map to them.

Enterprise accounts have a higher ceiling for some widgets, covered in the next section.
The 20,000 limit counts subitems and linked items, so a board can look small and still use a lot of it. Illustrative example: 6,000 deals, 9,000 subitem line items and a 5,000-row contacts board linked through Connect Boards add up to exactly 20,000, though no single board looks large. Count subitems and linked items when you plan.
The separate plan-level numbers for how many custom dashboards you can create (1, 5, 50, then unlimited by CRM plan, per the pricing page as read on October 14, 2026) are on our monday CRM plan limits page. They are a different limit from what one dashboard can hold.
Is the limit higher on Enterprise with mondayDB 2.0?
For some widgets, yes. monday.com’s mondayDB 2.0 article (edited May 19, 2026, marked as available on Enterprise accounts) lists platform limits of 100K items per board, 100K connected items per board and 500K items per dashboard. The 500K applies to the Chart, Battery and Numbers widgets. Interactive widgets such as Gantt, Timeline, Workload and Table still support only 20K items, and textual search in dashboards is not supported. The article says item limits count both the items on connected boards and items linked from other boards, and that the upgrade is automatic.
So the 20,000 figure is the one most teams meet, and it is also the Enterprise limit for any dashboard that includes an interactive widget. The same article says one board can have up to 60 connected boards, or 200 for the Portfolio solution. That is a limit on connections from one board and is separate from the connected boards per dashboard above.
What do I do when a dashboard hits a capacity warning?
monday.com’s steps for a capacity or limit warning, including one that shows in My Work:
- Open the affected dashboard and click Connect boards.
- Disconnect boards that are no longer needed or that contribute the most items.
- Use filters to reduce the visible item load instead of connecting more boards.
Two design moves that follow from the limits, which are our suggestions and not monday.com guidance: put archived or closed deals on a separate board so the live dashboard connects to a smaller one, and split a crowded dashboard into two when it nears 30 widgets, one per audience, such as pipeline and activity.
Why can’t I see a board in the Connect boards picker?
monday lists three things to check.
- Workspace. You must be subscribed to the workspace where the board lives. Boards in workspaces you have not joined do not appear.
- Permission. Your permission on the board must allow you to view it. Ask the board owner to share it.
- Cross-workspace access. If you connect from a different workspace, confirm the board is accessible across workspaces in your account settings.
If a teammate sees data you do not, the cause may be the same access rules that blank a mirror column. See why a monday.com mirror column is empty.
Why is a column missing from a widget?
Widgets surface columns from the boards you connected, and the columns on those boards decide what each widget can show. A column that exists on only some of the connected boards may not appear. For mirror columns, confirm the mirror is populated on the board and the board is connected with the right permissions. A practical fix is to give the field the same name and type on every board that feeds the widget, and our custom fields and formulas guide covers building those columns.
Can a dashboard show data that lives outside monday.com?
Not directly. monday’s article says dashboards display data from boards inside monday.com, and to keep external data live you import it first, using the import tool, a sync integration or the API. Once it is in a board, any widget can surface it. The same article says dashboards pull from boards, not portfolios, so boards from different portfolios can be reported on together, while portfolio-level rollups are not available through a dashboard. To take data out instead, see how to export monday.com to Excel.
When to get help
Get help when a leadership dashboard has grown past the item limit, when reporting needs numbers that live in several CRM boards with subitems, or when the plan you are on stops at 5 connected boards and the team is unsure whether upgrading is worth it. A specialist can restructure boards so reporting reads from a small number of clean sources, archive closed work, and build the dashboards around the limits. Book a short call or send a message, and see the monday.com service page for what aibrevo implements.
