How Long Does A2P 10DLC Approval Take in GoHighLevel?

Quick answer

On HighLevel's LC Phone, a Standard brand can take several business days, and the campaign is reviewed with Fast Track processing aimed at approval within 3 business days. Carriers can then need several more business days to pick up the registration. Each rejection restarts a review.

Key takeaways

  • There are three waits: the brand review, the campaign review, and carriers picking up the approved registration. HighLevel says Standard brands may take several business days, Sole Proprietor brands are often reviewed faster, and carriers may need several business days after approval.
  • The LC Phone registration bundle includes Fast Track processing ($3), which HighLevel describes as expediting campaign approval within 3 business days. Accounts registering directly with their own Twilio account follow Twilio's estimate, which said 10 to 15 days for campaign reviews when we checked on October 12, 2026.
  • When nothing is rejected, our reading of HighLevel's stated steps is about one to two weeks from brand submission to texting. Every rejection adds another review cycle.
  • Most delays are avoidable: an EIN under 15 days old, a legal name or address that doesn't match IRS records, a website reviewers can't open, or an opt-in flow they can't see.

On HighLevel’s LC Phone, A2P 10DLC approval comes in three waits. The brand review can take several business days for a Standard brand, and HighLevel says Sole Proprietor brands are often faster. The campaign review comes with Fast Track processing in the registration bundle, which HighLevel says expedites approval within 3 business days. Then carriers can need several business days to pick up the approved registration. With no rejections, that adds up to roughly one to two weeks. Every rejection sends you back into review.

That one-to-two-week figure is our reading of HighLevel’s stated steps, not a promise from HighLevel. The parts it is built from come from HighLevel’s and Twilio’s own documentation, checked on October 12, 2026.

Using your own Twilio account? The clock is different

If the sub-account texts through its own Twilio account instead of LC Phone, the registration runs on Twilio’s process and Twilio’s queue. Twilio’s documentation said “campaign reviews take 10–15 days” when we checked on October 12, 2026, with manual brand reviews taking “seven business days or more” for some direct registrations. Twilio says to contact its support if a campaign is still pending after that window. The LC Phone vs Twilio decision has other trade-offs too. Our FAQ on using your own Twilio account with GoHighLevel covers them.

What slows A2P approval down

Almost every slow registration is a rejected one. These are the causes HighLevel’s documentation lists, and how to avoid each before you submit:

Problem What reviewers see Fix before submitting
EIN issued in the last 15 days Records not yet in verification systems Wait until the EIN is at least 15 days old
Name or address mismatch Legal name, EIN or address differs from official records Copy the legal name and address exactly as on the IRS EIN letter
Sole Proprietor brand used by a business with an EIN Wrong brand type Register a Standard or Low Volume Standard brand
Website behind a login, or no site Reviewers can’t check the business (error 30921) Publish a public page about the business and its texting program
Opt-in flow they can’t see Call to action can’t be verified (error 30909) Show the form with an unticked SMS consent checkbox; add hosted screenshots if it sits behind a login
Sample messages without your brand or STOP Messages don’t match the use case Start each sample with the business name and end with opt-out wording
Missing privacy policy or SMS terms Policy pages don’t support the campaign Privacy policy stating mobile information won’t be shared with third parties for marketing (error 30932), plus SMS terms

For the full list of rejection codes and the fix for each, see our guide to GoHighLevel A2P rejections.

HighLevel also runs an AI compliance review before you submit the campaign (Review Application). Treat every issue it raises as a likely rejection and fix it there. That is far quicker than waiting days to hear the same thing from a reviewer.

What to do while the campaign is pending

  • Don’t create a second campaign. HighLevel’s guidance is plain: wait while a campaign is Pending, and don’t make another one just because it is still pending. Duplicates don’t jump the queue.
  • Build everything else. Workflows, templates, forms and smart lists can be finished and tested by email in the meantime. Write SMS templates to fit one segment; our SMS segment counter shows when a message spills into two.
  • Use calls and email. Only A2P texting on local numbers waits for approval.
  • Don’t switch to toll-free to save time. Toll-free numbers have their own verification, which HighLevel says can take four to six weeks, and they can’t text until verified. Our FAQ on texting from a toll-free number covers that process.

After approval: three checks before you send

  1. A2P Verified on every number. Settings > Phone System > Phone Numbers. Link any number that doesn’t show the green label to the approved campaign.
  2. Test on all three major networks. Carrier sync can take several business days, so send a test to phones on AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon and confirm each arrives.
  3. Check your daily limit. Your brand type sets how many segments you can send per day (3,000 for Sole Proprietor and 6,000 for Low Volume Standard, per HighLevel’s fee guide). Our page on sending bulk SMS in GoHighLevel shows how those limits shape a campaign.

If texts still fail after approval, the error code tells you why. Our SMS error code guide covers 30007, 30034 and the rest.

Does state law change what you can send once you are approved?

Yes. Carrier approval only lets your campaign send. State rules decide who you may text and when. Virginia’s telephone privacy law now names text messages, North Carolina’s telephone solicitation law covers voice or text solicitations, Colorado lists texts in its no-call definition, and Oklahoma limits how often you can call. Match your opt-in wording to the strictest state you text into.

What A2P approval costs

On LC Phone, HighLevel bundles brand registration, campaign vetting and Fast Track into one fee: $22.50 for Sole Proprietor or Low Volume Standard, and $64.00 for High Volume Standard, at the time of writing. Monthly campaign fees come on top. Resubmitting an eligible rejected campaign carries no extra vetting fee. The A2P 10DLC fee calculator adds it all up for your brand type.

Want A2P done right the first time?

A first-time approval is mostly preparation: matching business records, a public site with the right policy pages, and an opt-in form reviewers can see. We file A2P as part of every GoHighLevel setup, alongside number porting and domain authentication. If your registration has already been rejected, the account health check is a quick way to see what else needs fixing before you resubmit.

FAQs

How long does A2P approval take in GoHighLevel?

It depends on the brand type and on rejections. HighLevel says Standard brands may take several business days, Sole Proprietor brands are often reviewed more quickly, and the bundled Fast Track option aims to approve the campaign within 3 business days. Carriers can then need several business days to receive the approval. Without rejections, that is roughly one to two weeks.

Why is my GoHighLevel A2P campaign still pending?

Pending means carriers or the registration partner are still reviewing it. HighLevel's guidance is to wait and not create a second campaign while the first is pending, because a duplicate does not speed anything up. If it stays pending well past the expected window, contact HighLevel support with the sub-account and campaign details.

Can I speed up A2P 10DLC approval?

The LC Phone bundle already includes Fast Track processing, which targets campaign approval within 3 business days. Beyond that, the fastest route is avoiding rejection: use an EIN older than 15 days, match the legal name and address to IRS records exactly, and give reviewers a public website with a privacy policy, SMS terms and a visible opt-in checkbox.

Can I text while my A2P registration is pending?

Not from an unregistered US 10DLC local number, because carriers block or filter unregistered A2P traffic. Calls and email work as normal. A toll-free number is not a shortcut: HighLevel says toll-free verification can take four to six weeks, and the number cannot text until it is verified.

What happens after my A2P campaign is approved in GoHighLevel?

Go to Settings, Phone System, Phone Numbers and check that each number shows the green A2P Verified label. If it doesn't, link the number to the approved campaign. HighLevel notes that carrier systems may take several business days to fully receive the updated registration, so test-send to phones on AT&T, T-Mobile and Verizon before a big campaign.

Does a rejected A2P campaign cost money to resubmit?

Not for eligible rejections. HighLevel's fee guide says no additional Campaign Vetting Fee is charged when a rejected campaign is corrected and resubmitted. The cost is time: each resubmission goes back into review, and carriers can raise new issues on the next pass, so fix every listed reason before resubmitting.
