Drop My Drip: a custom apparel store with realistic garment previews
Drop My Drip lets customers design their own streetwear and see exactly how it will look on real fabric before ordering. We designed and built it in 8 weeks. In its first year customers ordered 19,000 custom garments, the return rate held at 4% against a typical 23% for online apparel, and 62% of customers ordered again within six months.

The challenge
Shoppers wanted personalised clothing but lacked easy design tools and could not trust how a design would look once printed. Traditional customisation was complicated and hard to run online at scale.
Across the category, artwork is pasted flat onto a product photo. The real garment drapes differently on fabric, the customer is disappointed, and the item comes back.
The founder had run a small print shop and knew where the money went. Not in production, but in returns, and nearly every return came down to one sentence: it did not look like this on the website.
The second barrier was creative confidence. Many people want something personal and freeze at a blank canvas, because they are not designers and most tools assume they are.
The founder wanted one product to fix both: help people reach a design they like, then show them honestly what they will receive.
What we built
We designed and built a custom apparel store with a guided design canvas and realistic previews that show how the print behaves on real cloth.
Print checks, production routing and order tracking sit behind it, so single custom pieces can be made and shipped without a minimum order.
Guided design canvas
Customers pick a starting direction and adjust it instead of facing an empty artboard. Text, artwork upload, layout templates and a curated graphic library are all available.
Realistic garment previews
This is the core of the build. Designs render onto garment photography with fabric drape, seam distortion and print texture, on models across sizes, so the preview shows how the print sits on cloth rather than floating on top.
Automatic print checks
The print method is chosen from the artwork's characteristics. Colour count and placement are checked before checkout, and any problem is explained in plain language instead of a bare error.
Production routing and tracking
Orders go to production partners based on location and print technique, with tracking through printing, quality check and dispatch.
Saved designs
Designs are saved to the customer's account for reordering or editing later.

The result
Bringing returns down from a category-typical 23% to 4% is the whole commercial story. Handling returns is what makes one-off custom apparel unprofitable, and removing them is what made zero minimum orders possible.
Repeat orders came from the same place. A customer whose first order matched the preview comes back, and 62% of them do.
