Does monday CRM Integrate With WhatsApp?
Quick answer
Yes, through partner apps, not a connector we could find built by monday.com. The monday marketplace has WhatsApp apps such as TimelinesAI, and Zapier and Make can send WhatsApp messages from board changes. Costs come from the app seat price, your automation allowance and Meta's per-message fees.
Part of the guide: monday CRM guide
Key takeaways
- On October 21, 2026 a search of monday's help center, read through its public help-center API, returned no WhatsApp integration article, so no connector built by monday.com is documented there. The marketplace itself blocks automated reads, so check it before you buy anything.
- Working routes exist: a marketplace app (TimelinesAI is the most documented), Zapier or Make with a WhatsApp action, or a WhatsApp Business Platform provider connected by webhook or API.
- Meta charges per delivered message, by category and recipient country, since July 1, 2025. From October 1, 2026 the first 1,000 service messages per business number each month are free.
- A message you start outside the 24-hour customer service window must be an approved template, and the person must have opted in. Meta has not delivered marketing messages to US WhatsApp users since April 1, 2025.
- GoHighLevel has WhatsApp built in at $10 a month per sub-account plus Meta fees. HubSpot connects it on Marketing Hub or Service Hub Professional and above.
monday CRM works with WhatsApp through add-ons. We could not find a WhatsApp connector built by monday.com itself, and we say below why that line carries a caveat. What you can set up today is a marketplace app that puts chats on board items, a Zapier or Make scenario that sends template messages when a board changes, or a WhatsApp Business Platform provider wired in by webhook or API.
Checked on October 21, 2026. We read Meta’s WhatsApp pricing and messaging documentation, Meta’s Marketing Messages API guide, WhatsApp’s business messaging policy, HubSpot’s WhatsApp setup article, HighLevel’s WhatsApp pricing guide, the TimelinesAI help center and pricing page, and the Make and Zapier listings. monday.com’s own help center returned a 403 to our fetch and several monday marketplace and community URLs returned 404, so we did not read monday’s own documentation on WhatsApp. Where this page says what monday does or does not offer, it rests on the partner and tool pages we could open.
Which ways can you connect WhatsApp to monday CRM?
Four routes exist, and they differ in who runs the WhatsApp connection and who pays for what.
| Route | What you get | Main cost drivers | Check before buying |
|---|---|---|---|
| monday.com built-in connector | None documented in monday’s help center on Oct 21, 2026 (marketplace not readable by us) | Not applicable | Search monday’s marketplace and help center for “WhatsApp” yourself |
| Marketplace app (for example TimelinesAI) | Chats and contacts synced to board items, chat from the item view, recipes that send a message on a status change | Per-seat price (TimelinesAI Starter $35, Pro $49 on its pricing page), Meta fees if it uses the Business Platform, your monday automation allowance | Which WhatsApp number type it connects, and what it does about templates |
| Zapier or Make | Send a WhatsApp message or template when a board event fires. Make lists WhatsApp Business Cloud actions including Send a Message and Send a Template Message | Zapier tasks or Make usage, Meta’s per-message fees, a verified WhatsApp Business account | One-directional by default. Incoming replies need a separate trigger or provider |
| WhatsApp Business Platform provider (BSP) with webhook or API | Two-way messaging, your own templates and inbox, monday updated by API | Provider subscription, Meta per-message fees, developer time | Whether the provider has a monday connector or you must build one with monday’s API |

The first row matters most. A forum post titled “Introducing our native monday.com and WhatsApp integration” turns up in search results, but it is written by a partner and describes a third-party app, and the page itself returned a 404 when we opened it. A “native” label in a post is not a monday.com product page.
What does the TimelinesAI monday.com app do?
It is a third-party app, listed on the monday marketplace, that syncs WhatsApp contacts to a board, shows messages as item updates, and lets you start and continue chats from an item. Its help center article lists four steps: install the app from the marketplace, authorize with your monday account (each team member authorizes their own), add a Phone column and a Link column to the board, then configure automation templates for scenarios such as creating an item for a new chat or sending a message on a status change.
Two details from its own pages are worth knowing. TimelinesAI says you can connect an existing personal or business number by QR code in under two minutes, with no Business API setup, and describes the Business API route as the one that needs a new number, Meta verification and template approval. The same help page notes that its templates may use monday automation actions, so your plan’s allowance applies. We read these as vendor statements and did not test the app.
Can I send WhatsApp from monday CRM automatically?
Yes, once a connector exists. The pattern is the same in every route: a status or date column changes, a monday automation fires, and a connected tool sends a WhatsApp template message to the phone number in the item.
- Add a Phone column to the board and keep numbers in international format.
- Store consent on the item, such as a checkbox column filled by a form that asked for WhatsApp permission.
- Pick the sender: a marketplace app recipe, a Zapier or Make scenario, or your provider’s webhook.
- Create the message as a template in WhatsApp Manager or your provider and wait for Meta’s approval.
- Map the template variables to board columns, then test with your own number before turning the automation on.
On the Make side, the WhatsApp Business Cloud app lists actions including Send a Message, Send a Template Message, Upload a Media and Download a Media, and its listing showed monday.com triggers. Zapier’s WhatsApp Notifications app lists one action, Send Message, which needs a template input, and no triggers. That difference decides whether replies can ever flow back into monday without extra work. Our monday CRM automation recipes and API and integration guide cover the trigger side, and the Zapier pricing and task limits page shows what each task costs.
Every automation run counts against your monday plan. The monday CRM plan limits page has the allowance by plan, which is where a WhatsApp reminder to every lead on every stage change can run out.
What does WhatsApp cost when you connect it to monday CRM?
You pay Meta for each delivered message, plus whatever the connector charges. Meta’s pricing documentation says that since July 1, 2025 it charges on a per-message basis, only when a message is delivered and only for messages from a business to a user. Template messages fall into marketing, utility and authentication categories, and replies inside an open window are service messages.
| Item | What Meta’s page says (checked Oct 21, 2026) |
|---|---|
| Billing unit | Per delivered message since July 1, 2025 |
| Rates | Set by category and recipient country, effective October 1, 2026 |
| Service messages | First 1,000 per business phone number per month free, resetting monthly, from October 1, 2026 |
| Click to WhatsApp ad window | Messages in the free entry point window, which can stay open up to 7 days, are not charged except Meta Business Agent messages |
| Volume tiers | Apply to utility and authentication messages only |
| Rate changes | Pricing updates happen only on the first day of a quarter |

The connector adds its own line. TimelinesAI listed Starter at $35 per seat and Pro at $49 per seat on October 21, 2026, billed per user, with a 10-day free trial. Zapier and Make bill on their own usage units, and a BSP bills a subscription. None of these figures include Meta’s message fees, so a team sending utility reminders to customers in several countries should price each country on Meta’s rate card.
Do the 24-hour window and template rules apply in monday?
Yes. They are Meta’s rules, so they follow the WhatsApp number whichever CRM sits on top. A customer service window opens for 24 hours when a user messages or calls your business, and a new message from the user resets it. Inside it you can reply with ordinary messages. Outside it, Meta’s documentation says non-template messages are only allowed in an open window, so you must use an approved template.
WhatsApp’s business messaging policy adds the consent rule. You may only contact people who gave you their number and confirmed they want subsequent messages, and you may only start conversations with an approved template. It also tells businesses to honor opt-outs made on or off WhatsApp and to give a clear way out of specific message categories. In a monday board, that means a consent column and an opt-out status that your automation checks before it sends.
Can I send WhatsApp marketing messages to US numbers?
No. Meta’s Marketing Messages API guide says that starting April 1, 2025, Meta does not deliver marketing messages sent to WhatsApp users in the United States, with error code 131049, across all business messaging APIs. A US business number can still message users in other countries. For a monday CRM team with a US lead list, WhatsApp is a channel for replies, confirmations and reminders rather than promotions.
What changes for WhatsApp marketing in 2027?
Meta’s Marketing Messages API overview says the Cloud API stops supporting marketing messages on October 13, 2027, and that any new messaging account created on or after April 13, 2027 cannot send marketing messages through the Cloud API. That affects the provider behind your monday connection, not monday itself. Ask your app, automation tool or BSP which API your marketing templates use. Our MM Lite API explainer has the timeline and the questions to ask.
How does monday CRM compare with GoHighLevel and HubSpot for WhatsApp?
GoHighLevel has WhatsApp built in, HubSpot has it as a channel on higher-tier subscriptions, and monday CRM relies on add-ons.
| monday CRM | GoHighLevel | HubSpot | |
|---|---|---|---|
| How WhatsApp connects | Marketplace app, Zapier or Make, or a BSP | Built into the platform | Channel in the conversations inbox, connected through Meta’s setup window |
| Platform fee for WhatsApp | None listed. Connector priced separately | $10 a month per WhatsApp-enabled sub-account | Marketing Hub or Service Hub Professional or Enterprise required |
| Meta message fees | Pass through your connector or account | Charged per delivered message, rebillable to clients (default 1.05x) | Refers to Meta’s pricing page |
| Template cap | Set by connector | None stated in the guide we read | 1,000 template messages per month, shared across connected accounts |
| Verdict | Fine if the team already works in monday boards and accepts an add-on | Simplest if you want WhatsApp, SMS and email in one inbox | Fits teams already on HubSpot Pro tiers |
Source: HighLevel WhatsApp pricing, billing and rebilling guide (modified Sep 22, 2026), HubSpot Knowledge Base article on connecting WhatsApp to the conversations inbox, TimelinesAI and Make listings; checked October 21, 2026.
The HighLevel guide states the $10 a month per sub-account fee and the rebilling multiplier range of 1x to 10x. HubSpot’s article lists the subscription tiers, says only new messages sync, and says template messages are limited to 1,000 per month across connected accounts. HubSpot also says a personal WhatsApp account cannot be connected and the number must be free of other WhatsApp accounts or integrations first. For the GoHighLevel side in detail, see does GoHighLevel work with WhatsApp. Wider platform pricing is in our HubSpot pricing and limits research and the CRM comparison matrix.
Which WhatsApp setup should a monday CRM team pick?
Start from how the number is used, then from who answers it.
| If your team… | Pick | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Needs reps to chat from the item and see history on the deal | Marketplace app | Chat sits next to the deal. Confirm its number type and templates first |
| Only sends reminders or confirmations when a status changes | Zapier or Make with a verified WhatsApp Business account | Cheapest to start, but replies need extra setup |
| Has high volume, several numbers, or compliance review | BSP with monday API sync | You control templates, consent and logging |
| Wants WhatsApp, SMS and email in one inbox with no add-ons | Look at GoHighLevel | WhatsApp is built in |
Before you commit, test one inbound reply end to end: a customer messages, the item updates, a rep answers inside 24 hours, and the opt-out path works. A connector that fails that test will cost more in manual work than it saves in seats.
When to bring in help
A single status-change reminder is a one-afternoon job. Bring someone in when several reps will chat from boards, when consent and opt-out must be audited, or when you are deciding whether monday CRM is still the right base. Our monday.com implementation service covers integrations and rollouts, the monday CRM expert page explains how we work, and you can contact us to talk through your setup. If the real need is a WhatsApp-first inbox, our GoHighLevel service is the alternative to price. Our monday CRM guide is the place to start if you are still evaluating the platform.
Founder’s note, Alpit Patel. WhatsApp rules changed more than once this year, and I see old advice repeated often. I’d check Meta’s current pricing and the US marketing restriction before building anything, and treat any add-on as a cost per message. I founded aibrevo in San Francisco in 2021, and through autoesta I have overseen 320+ GoHighLevel implementation projects across med spas, real estate, healthcare, dental, home services, SaaS and professional-services clients in the US, UK and UAE.
