How Many API Calls Does monday.com Allow Per Day?
Quick answer
monday.com caps API calls per day by plan: 1,000 on Free, Basic and Standard, 10,000 on Pro and 25,000 on Enterprise, resetting at midnight UTC. Past the cap the API returns DAILY_LIMIT_EXCEEDED. Marketplace apps are excluded, failed calls cost 0.1 of a call, and you can request an increase from the API analytics dashboard.

Key takeaways
- Daily call limit by plan: 1,000 on Free, Basic and Standard, 10,000 on Pro, 25,000 on Enterprise. It resets at midnight UTC (monday.com API reference, read October 17, 2026).
- Calls made through personal tokens, private apps and public apps count. Marketplace apps and apps built by monday.com do not.
- A normal request costs one call. A request that hits a rate limit costs 0.1 call, a standalone complexity query costs less than one, and very heavy queries can cost more than one.
- At the cap the API returns DAILY_LIMIT_EXCEEDED. You can request an increase from the API analytics dashboard if you consistently exceed it.
- The daily call limit sits beside four other limits: complexity points, a per-minute query limit, concurrency and an IP limit. Any of them can stop a job first.
How many API calls can you make per day?
It depends on the plan the account is on. monday.com’s API reference lists the daily call limit like this, with the counter resetting at midnight UTC:
| Plan tier | Daily call limit |
|---|---|
| Free, Basic and Standard | 1,000 |
| Pro | 10,000 |
| Enterprise | 25,000 |
The tiers are named as monday.com names them in its API reference. monday CRM’s own pricing page lists 25,000 API calls a day for Ultimate, which matches the Enterprise tier; see monday CRM plan limits for the rest of the CRM caps.
If the app itself is not loading or boards error out, that is usually not a rate limit: see is monday.com down.
What counts toward the limit?
Calls made through personal API tokens, private apps and public apps count. Marketplace apps and apps built by monday.com do not. A normal request deducts one call, with three exceptions:
| Request | Cost against the daily limit |
|---|---|
| A request that hits a rate limit (complexity, minute rate, concurrency) | 0.1 call |
A standalone complexity query to check a query’s cost |
Less than one call; include it inside another request to avoid the charge |
| A very high-complexity query | One call or more |
What does the error look like and how do you fix it?
When the account passes its cap, the API returns DAILY_LIMIT_EXCEEDED. Work through this in order:
- Stop the job. Retrying a capped account only burns 0.1 call per rejected request.
- Check usage. The API analytics dashboard shows how many calls the account has used.
- Resume tomorrow, or split the work. The counter resets at midnight UTC. Resume from the last record that succeeded, not from the start.
- Cut calls per record. Request only the fields you need, avoid nested queries, and use the
pageandlimitarguments. A cheaper query also costs fewer extra calls. - Ask for more. monday.com says you can request an increase from the API analytics dashboard if the account consistently exceeds the limit.
- Use a marketplace app for the heavy lifting where one exists, since those calls are excluded.
Confirm the fix by sending one small request after the reset and checking that it succeeds.
How long does a bulk job take against the daily limit?
The arithmetic is simple when each record takes one call. This is an illustration, not a monday.com figure.
| Job (one call per record) | Standard (1,000 a day) | Pro (10,000 a day) | Enterprise (25,000 a day) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Update 2,500 contacts | 3 days | Same day | Same day |
| Backfill 30,000 items | 30 days | 3 days | 2 days |
| Update 50,000 records | 50 days | 5 days | 2 days |
Batching several changes into one request, where the API allows it, shortens these numbers, which is why a one-time load is usually better done through monday’s import than through the API. For a CSV import, see how to import CSV into monday.com.
Is the daily limit the only API limit?
No. It sits beside four others, and any of them can stop a job before the daily cap does:
| Limit | Value from monday.com’s API reference |
|---|---|
| Complexity, individual query | 5,000,000 points |
| Complexity per minute | App tokens: 5M each for reads and writes; personal tokens: 10M combined (1M on trial, NGO and free accounts) |
| Queries per minute | 1,000 (other plans), 2,500 (Pro), 5,000 (Enterprise) |
| Concurrent requests | 40 (other plans), 100 (Pro), 250 (Enterprise) |
| IP address | 5,000 requests per 10 seconds |
The CRM API rate limits comparison sets these against GoHighLevel, Airtable and Pipedrive, and the monday CRM API integration guide covers authentication and webhooks. If you are sizing an integration or migration against your plan, book a free 30-minute call.
