Salesforce Agentforce Updates 2026: AIforce, Koa, Claudeforce and the Listen Labs Deal
Between August 26 and September 29, 2026, Salesforce announced Claudeforce with Anthropic, the AIforce interface layer, the Koa CRM reasoning model, and a deal to acquire Listen Labs. Here is what each one is, how far along it is, and what it changes for a team running or buying Salesforce.
Key takeaways
- September 15, 2026 (Dreamforce): Salesforce announced AIforce, a layer that lets agents and AI tools work on Salesforce data, workflows and permissions from places like Claude, Slack and Lightning. It launched with Claudeforce, Slackforce and Agentforce Coworker.
- September 15, 2026: Koa, Salesforce's first CRM reasoning model, built on NVIDIA Nemotron, is in pilots now. Salesforce expects general availability in winter 2026 in U.S. regions.
- August 26, 2026: Claudeforce, the expanded Salesforce and Anthropic partnership, launched with a Salesforce plugin for Claude that has 37 prebuilt sales skills. Open beta was expected in September 2026.
- September 29, 2026: Salesforce signed a definitive agreement to acquire Listen Labs, an AI customer research platform. Closing is expected in the fourth quarter of Salesforce's fiscal year 2027, subject to regulatory clearance.
- None of these items is a price change. The pricing change of this period is the September 3 editions announcement, covered separately.

Four product or corporate items with dates on Salesforce’s own news pages. They are about AI access to Salesforce, not about license prices; the price story of this period is the Core, Advanced and Max editions change from September 3.

What is AIforce and what does it change for a Salesforce admin?
Salesforce describes AIforce as a layer that brings the data, workflows, business logic, permissions, security and governance already in Salesforce to any AI interface. Instead of opening the Salesforce app, a user can work from Claude, Slack or Lightning and ask questions, update records or trigger workflows.
The detail that matters to admins: Salesforce says every request runs on existing permissions and business rules, so an agent sees only what the person asking can see, and every action routes back through Salesforce. It also states “no new permissions model, no migration, no custom integration work,” with admins connecting once. For builders, AIforce is powered by what Salesforce calls the Headless Toolkit, which exposes MCPs, APIs, plug-ins and skills.
Our reading, not Salesforce’s claim: this makes your field-level security, sharing rules and permission sets the real control surface for AI access. A messy permission model that was tolerable when people navigated screens becomes riskier when an agent reads hundreds of records at once. Clean it up before you switch AI access on.
What is Agentforce Coworker?
Coworker is the one AIforce item Salesforce describes as instantly available. It is an AI teammate inside Lightning that reasons across accounts, activity and history, and can call the Agentforce agents you have already deployed. Salesforce says it can be activated with the push of a button and that 100,000 users activated it within its first 35 days. The adoption number is Salesforce’s own; Fulton Bank, quoted in the same announcement, reports more than 20 use cases in production for about 3,000 users.
What is the Koa reasoning model?
Koa is Salesforce’s first CRM reasoning model for Agentforce, announced with NVIDIA on September 15, 2026. Salesforce built it by post-training NVIDIA Nemotron 3 Super on a synthetic dataset modeled on CRM deployments across more than 14 industries, and says no customer data was used for training.
Salesforce claims Koa matches or exceeds leading model performance on CRM actions with three times fewer errors on its own CRM benchmark. That is a vendor benchmark, so treat it as a claim to test, not a result. Salesforce controls the weights and runs inference inside its own trust boundary. Status: select pilot customers now (it names 1-800Accountant, Baxter Credit Union, Engine, Formula 1, UChicago Medicine and Xero), general availability expected winter 2026 in U.S. regions.
What is Claudeforce?
Claudeforce is the expanded partnership between Salesforce and Anthropic, announced August 26, 2026. It launches with Salesforce in Claude, a plugin with 37 prebuilt sales skills that lets sellers and agents reason over live revenue context, automate pipeline updates and take governed action from Claude. The release said it was with select pilot customers and expected to reach open beta in September 2026. It also states pricing and packaging are subject to change and that availability varies by region.
What does the Listen Labs acquisition mean?
On September 29, 2026, Salesforce announced it signed a definitive agreement to acquire Listen Labs, an AI platform whose agents design customer studies, recruit participants, run interviews and synthesize findings. Salesforce says the platform draws on a network of more than 50 million participants and runs interviews in more than 120 languages. It is expected to complement Marketing Cloud and Service Cloud. Closing is expected in the fourth quarter of Salesforce’s fiscal year 2027, subject to customary conditions including regulatory clearance, so nothing is purchasable as a Salesforce product yet.
What this means for you
- Current Salesforce customers: list which AI tools you want to reach your org, and audit permission sets and sharing rules first. Pilots (Koa, Salesforce in Claude) are not yet something to plan a rollout around; Coworker is the one item Salesforce calls instantly available.
- New buyers: these announcements are about AI access, so judge them alongside edition pricing. A 10-user Pro Suite to Core step is worked through in our editions page, and other CRMs are compared in the CRM pricing comparison.
- Teams on lighter CRMs: if you are weighing a smaller tool against Salesforce, see Pipedrive vs Salesforce or GoHighLevel vs Salesforce.
- If you want help: aibrevo’s team implements Salesforce; see Salesforce implementation services, the Salesforce implementation cost guide, or contact us.
