GoHighLevel AI Studio Updates, Q4 2026: Cloud Backend, Payments and Migrate to SSR

Since mid-September 2026 HighLevel's AI features changed mostly in AI Studio: a September 22 Migrate to SSR upgrade for React projects, a built-in Cloud backend on October 9, and hosted payments on October 8. Conversation AI and Voice AI had no new feature releases in that window, only a voice price notice.

Key takeaways

  • October 9, 2026: AI Studio Cloud gives a project a private backend with a database, user accounts and file storage. It works on apps built on TanStack Start and starts at a free Tiny database size.
  • October 8, 2026: AI Studio apps can sell products and accept payments through HighLevel's native payments, with a hosted checkout, coupons, subscriptions and one-click upsells.
  • September 22, 2026: existing React projects that need server rendering, server functions or secrets can be copied onto the new stack from Project Settings, Migrate to SSR. The live site and domains stay on the original.
  • Cloud sign-in supports email and password only in v1, and removing Cloud permanently deletes that project's database, users and files.
  • In HighLevel's changelog, the newest Conversation AI entry is dated September 7 and the newest Voice AI entry is August 7, 2026, so neither had a new feature release in the September 15 to October 14 window. Voice pricing changed on October 13.

Did HighLevel release anything newer than October 14, 2026?

No. HighLevel’s public changelog showed its newest entries dated October 14, 2026, and all of them are already in our mid-October 2026 updates. This page covers what that page does not: the AI Studio releases in detail, and an honest check of whether Voice AI and Conversation AI changed.

What changed in HighLevel’s AI features from September 15 to October 14, 2026?

Date Release Area
October 9 AI Studio Cloud: a built-in backend (database, users, storage) AI Studio
October 8 AI Studio: sell products and accept payments AI Studio
September 22 Migrate to SSR for existing React projects AI Studio
September 22 AI Studio live for all locations from Labs; sub-account permissions off by default AI Studio

The September 22 general availability, the GPT-6 model additions and the Ask AI mobile voice feature are covered in our September 2026 updates, so they are not repeated here. For a plain definition of the product, see what is GoHighLevel AI Studio.

What does AI Studio Cloud give an app?

Cloud is turned on from More, then Cloud, then Overview. In about a minute HighLevel creates a private backend for that project. AI Studio checks with you before it builds anything against Cloud.

Part What HighLevel says it does
Database Lists tables, row counts and whether row-level security is on; edit rows in place; ask chat for new tables or policies; daily backups of schema and rows (not storage files or app code); restore replaces the live database and pauses database access for a few minutes
Users Signup chart, search by email, create a confirmed user, send an invitation, delete a user (cannot be undone). Email confirmation is required by default
Auth settings Close registration, reject passwords found in public breaches, set password rules, Site URL and Redirect URLs (a mismatch is the usual cause of failed logins)
Storage Public or private buckets, names 3 to 63 characters in lowercase letters, numbers and hyphens that cannot be renamed, upload size limit, RLS policies
Advanced Database size from Tiny (free) to X-Large, changeable once an hour; storage can grow up to 4 times a day but never shrink; Pause and Resume
Security advisor A card lists issues; fix critical ones before you publish

Three limits to know before you build on it. Sign-in is email and password only in this first version. Cloud works on apps built on TanStack Start, so an existing React project needs Migrate to SSR first, and migrating does not turn Cloud on. And Remove Cloud permanently deletes that project’s database, users and files, so export tables as CSV and download files first. If your wallet cannot cover Cloud, it pauses itself without deleting anything.

One data-sharing detail from the same notes: sharing or remixing a project does not copy its Cloud data, yet the copy can still send requests to the original project’s Cloud under its access rules. Treat remixed copies as connected to the source.

How do payments work in an AI Studio app?

The October 8 release uses HighLevel’s native payments, so your products, orders, payment providers and subscriptions are the ones already in your account. Steps from the notes:

  1. Open More, then Payments, turn it on, and pick test or live mode.
  2. Choose which catalog products the app can sell, and whether each has one fixed price, selected variations, or the full catalog.
  3. Ask the agent to add payments. It shows an approval card, then builds a storefront and checkout.

Checkout is hosted by the platform, so card details are never in your app’s code. PayPal express checkout, coupon codes and subscriptions (including carts with more than one subscription product) are supported. After a purchase you can show a one-click upsell that works with saved cards from Stripe (3D Secure supported), Square, Authorize.net, NMI, Adyen and Mercado Pago, and an upsell can be charged only after the original order is paid and only once per order. Payments currently works only on TanStack Start apps. Before charging real customers, run a test-mode purchase end to end, including refunds and coupons.

What does Migrate to SSR do to a live React project?

Migrate to SSR (September 22 entry on HighLevel’s AI Studio changelog filter) is in Project Settings, marked Advanced. It makes a second project in the same sub-account, suggested name “{project name} (TanStack)”, and runs the upgrade there as a draft. The original stays live, domains included. While migrating, publish, code save, version restore, domain and slug changes, and remix are blocked on the copy.

Things HighLevel flags before you publish the copy: it is charged like a normal build; walk through the new project because the pass can leave something to fix; and workflow triggers still listen to the original until you point them at the new project. Use it only when the project needs server rendering, server functions or secrets.

Did Voice AI or Conversation AI get updates?

Not new features in this window. On HighLevel’s changelog filtered to Conversation AI, the newest entry is Working Hours for Conversation AI Agents on September 7, 2026, and the filter for Voice AI ends at August 7, 2026. The only voice item in the window is the voice pricing notice posted October 12 and effective October 13, which is a price change, not a feature; see GoHighLevel October 2026 price changes. The changelog filter labels are HighLevel’s own, so an item filed under another label could be missed; check the changelog before relying on this. If you are weighing voice automation, does GoHighLevel have an AI receptionist covers the current setup.

What this means for you

  • Agencies building client apps: AI Studio can now carry a database, logins and payments in one project. Test Cloud on a throwaway project before putting client data in it.
  • Existing AI Studio projects: if you need payments or Cloud, plan the Migrate to SSR step and the cost of the agent conversion.
  • Anyone relying on Voice AI or Conversation AI: there is nothing new to adopt this month; watch the changelog.
  • Need a build: autoesta, aibrevo’s partner company, delivers GoHighLevel builds; start at GoHighLevel implementation services or contact us.

FAQs

What is AI Studio Cloud in HighLevel?

It is a built-in backend for an AI Studio app, announced October 9, 2026. Turn it on from More, then Cloud, and HighLevel creates a private backend for that project with a database, user accounts and file storage in about a minute. You do not connect anything extra. It requires apps built on TanStack Start.

Can AI Studio apps take payments?

Yes, since October 8, 2026. Under More, then Payments, you turn payments on, switch between test and live mode and choose which catalog products the app can sell. Checkout is hosted by the platform, so card details never touch your app code. It currently works only with TanStack Start apps.

What does Migrate to SSR do?

It copies an existing React project into a new draft project on the TanStack Start stack, so it can use server rendering, server functions and secrets. Your published site and domains stay on the original. It is in Project Settings, marked Advanced, and is charged like a normal build because agents do the conversion.

How much does AI Studio Cloud cost?

HighLevel's changelog says the database starts at Tiny (free) and can move up through Mini, Small, Medium, Large and X-Large, with an hourly price shown for each size. Database storage is paid hourly for the space you reserve, and file storage is paid for what is stored. Check the in-app prices before you scale.

Does Cloud support Google or social login?

Not yet. HighLevel's October 9 notes say sign-in supports email and password only in v1 and that more sign-in methods will come in future releases. Email confirmation is required by default, and you can reject passwords found in public breaches.

Did HighLevel update Voice AI or Conversation AI recently?

Not in the September 15 to October 14, 2026 window, based on HighLevel's changelog filters. The newest Conversation AI entry is Working Hours on September 7, and the newest Voice AI entry is August 7. A voice pricing notice was posted October 12, effective October 13, covered in our price-changes page.

Who can use AI Studio in a sub-account?

After AI Studio left Labs on September 22, 2026, sub-account user and admin permissions are off by default, except for users who already had it enabled in Labs. Agency owners, admins and agency users with write access see a Home banner where they can grant access to everyone or specific people.
