Does GoHighLevel Work With Stripe? Setup, What Needs It, and Common Errors

Quick answer

Yes. Stripe is GoHighLevel's main payment integration: connect it per sub-account under Payments > Integrations, and it powers invoices, payment links, order forms, stores, calendars and courses. Each sub-account takes one Stripe account. SaaS mode bills your clients through the agency's own Stripe. PayPal, Square, Authorize.Net, NMI and Razorpay are also supported.

Key takeaways

  • Connect Stripe in each sub-account under Payments > Integrations > Connect with Stripe. HighLevel's guide was updated August 18, 2026.
  • Stripe powers invoices, payment links, order forms, forms, stores, calendars, courses and communities.
  • One Stripe account per sub-account. Connect each client's own Stripe, not the agency's; HighLevel advises against using the agency's Stripe on a client sub-account.
  • SaaS mode charges your clients through the Stripe account connected at the agency level. Test-mode keys are the usual reason SaaS sign-ups don't create sub-accounts.
  • Stripe's own fees still apply: 2.9% + 30 cents per successful US card charge on standard pricing. PayPal, Square, Authorize.Net, NMI and Razorpay are alternatives with different feature support.

You connect it in each sub-account under Payments > Integrations > Connect with Stripe, and from then on invoices, payment links, order forms, forms, stores, calendars, courses and communities can take payments. How do you connect Stripe to GoHighLevel?

HighLevel’s Stripe getting-started guide gives this order:

  1. In the client’s sub-account, open Payments > Integrations. You can also start from Settings > Integrations.
  2. Click Connect with Stripe.
  3. Log in to the client’s Stripe account and authorize the connection. The Stripe user needs enough permissions; if authorization fails, the Stripe account owner has to raise their role.
  4. Back in HighLevel, confirm the status shows connected.
  5. Set up payment methods (cards, wallets, buy now pay later, ACH or SEPA) separately for test mode and live mode, per HighLevel’s payment methods article.
  6. Run a test purchase in test mode, then switch to live.

Use the client’s own Stripe account. HighLevel’s sub-account Stripe article advises against connecting the agency’s Stripe to a client’s sub-account, which would put the client’s revenue, disputes and payouts in the agency’s account.

What in GoHighLevel needs Stripe?

Two Stripe connections in a GoHighLevel agency The agency-level Stripe account bills clients for SaaS mode subscriptions and usage rebilling. Each client sub-account connects its own Stripe account, which takes payments from the client's customers through invoices, payment links, order forms, forms, stores, calendars, courses and communities. Agency-level Stripe your agency's account Sub-account Stripe each client's own account bills your clients takes payments from the client's customers SaaS mode subscriptions Wallet and usage rebilling Your plan fees to clients Invoices, payment links, order forms Forms, stores, calendars Courses and communities
Keep the two connections separate: agency billing on the agency's Stripe, client revenue on the client's Stripe. Based on HighLevel's Stripe and SaaS mode articles, checked October 8, 2026.

The client-facing payment features are listed in HighLevel’s Stripe guide. Calendars can take a deposit or full payment at booking, which our calendar setup guide covers. Order forms and checkout pages live in the funnel builder, compared with ClickFunnels in the funnel builder guide. Paid courses and communities are covered in the membership sites guide.

On the agency side, SaaS mode subscriptions and usage rebilling run through the Stripe account connected at agency level. Our SaaS mode setup guide walks through it.

Which payment gateways does GoHighLevel support?

HighLevel’s payment provider comparison lists these options:

Provider Notes
Stripe Most complete support: cards, wallets, buy now pay later, ACH and SEPA, recurring payments, SaaS mode
PayPal Supported; check recurring and feature coverage for your use
Square Supported
Authorize.Net Supported
NMI Supported, including text-to-pay links per HighLevel’s NMI article
Razorpay Added for India-based businesses, per the changelog
Custom providers Bring your own through the Marketplace, per the changelog

Support differs by feature: some methods take one-time payments only, and recurring invoices work with fewer providers. If you need subscriptions, payment plans or SaaS mode, Stripe is the safe default. If you sell through Shopify instead of HighLevel’s own store, see does GoHighLevel integrate with Shopify.

What does it cost?

Stripe charges its own fees on every payment. On Stripe’s US standard pricing, a successful domestic card charge costs 2.9% + 30 cents, with 1.5% more for international cards, 1% more for currency conversion, 0.5% more for manually entered cards, and $15 per dispute. A $500 invoice paid by a US card therefore costs $14.80 in Stripe fees. Proposals and contracts can also collect payment when signed; see does GoHighLevel have e-signatures.

We found no HighLevel help article that adds a HighLevel transaction fee to a standard Stripe connection. Your Stripe dashboard shows exactly what each payment cost. Note that HighLevel doesn’t import payments made in Stripe before you connected it, so reporting in HighLevel starts at the connection date.

Why isn’t Stripe working in GoHighLevel?

FAQs

Does GoHighLevel work with Stripe?

Yes. Stripe is a native integration. Connect it in each sub-account under Payments, then Integrations, then Connect with Stripe. Once connected, invoices, payment links, order forms, forms, stores, calendars, courses and communities can take payments through it.

How do I connect Stripe to GoHighLevel?

In the sub-account, go to Payments, then Integrations, and click Connect with Stripe. Log in to Stripe and authorize the connection, confirm the status shows connected in HighLevel, then set up payment methods for live and test mode. You can also start from Settings, then Integrations.

Can I connect more than one Stripe account to a sub-account?

No. HighLevel allows one Stripe account per sub-account. Run separate businesses in separate sub-accounts, each with its own Stripe.

Does GoHighLevel charge transaction fees on Stripe payments?

Stripe charges its own processing fees, 2.9% + 30 cents per successful domestic card charge on US standard pricing, with extra for international cards, currency conversion and manually entered cards. We found no HighLevel help article stating a HighLevel transaction fee on top for a standard Stripe connection. Check your Stripe dashboard for the fees actually charged.

Why is Stripe not connecting to GoHighLevel?

Usually because the Stripe user authorizing the connection lacks the needed permissions; the Stripe account owner has to raise their role. If the integration still shows disconnected, reconnect from Payments, then Integrations. For SaaS mode, check that the agency and sub-account both use live keys, not test-mode keys.

Can I use PayPal instead of Stripe in GoHighLevel?

Yes. HighLevel also supports PayPal, Square, Authorize.Net, NMI and Razorpay, plus custom providers through the Marketplace. Feature support differs by provider: some only take one-time payments, and recurring invoices work with fewer providers, so check the provider comparison before you choose.

Will my old Stripe payments show in GoHighLevel?

No. HighLevel says payments made in Stripe before you connect it are not imported. Reporting in HighLevel starts from the connection date.

How do I test payments in GoHighLevel?

Set up payment methods separately for test mode and live mode in the Stripe integration settings, run a test purchase with Stripe's test cards in test mode, then switch to live before launch. Don't leave SaaS mode on test keys, or new client sign-ups won't create sub-accounts.
