How to Cancel GoHighLevel, and Can You Get a Refund?
Quick answer
Cancel GoHighLevel from Agency Settings > Billing > 'Want to modify/cancel your subscription?' > Cancel Plan, and finish every step. HighLevel's terms say all fees are non-refundable, including unused time on annual plans; refund requests go to its billing team for review. A $27 a month Pause Plan keeps your data instead.

Key takeaways
- Only the agency owner or an admin can cancel: Agency Settings > Billing > 'Want to modify/cancel your subscription?' > Show More > Cancel Plan, then reason, warning, 30-word feedback and Submit.
- HighLevel's terms say all fees are non-refundable, including subscription fees, communication charges and unused prepaid time. Refund requests go to the billing team, case by case.
- Phone numbers and A2P registrations are deleted 14 days after cancellation and billed until then. Data is kept 90 days, then deleted with no backups.
- Ask for any remaining wallet balance back: HighLevel's terms say wallet funds left 30 days after cancellation become HighLevel's.
- To stop paying without losing data, use the $27 a month Pause Plan. To stop a single client, pause or delete the sub-account instead.

How do you cancel GoHighLevel step by step?
Only the agency owner or an agency admin can do this. HighLevel’s billing FAQ lists the steps:
- Open Agency Settings and select Billing.
- Click “Want to modify/cancel your subscription?”
- Select Show More in the pop-up.
- Choose Cancel Plan.
- Pick your cancellation reason and continue.
- Read the data-loss warning.
- Confirm with “I am sure I want to cancel”.
- Write your feedback. HighLevel requires at least 30 words.
- Submit, then go back to Billing and check that the plan shows as cancelled.
Before step 1, do the export work in the next section. Once you cancel, the clock starts on phone numbers (14 days) and data (90 days).
What should you do before you cancel?
- Export your data. HighLevel recommends exporting contacts, conversations, calendars, funnels, automations and invoices. It keeps no backups after the 90-day purge.
- Decide about your phone numbers. If you want to keep a business number, port it out to another carrier before cancelling; once deleted, it’s gone. Our FAQ on keeping your business number covers porting.
- Request your wallet balance back. The terms say you must ask, and anything left 30 days after cancellation becomes HighLevel’s.
- Cancel add-ons and apps you pay for separately. HighLevel’s billing FAQ notes that downgrading doesn’t cancel add-ons, Marketplace apps, phone numbers or other paid services on its own. Check each one off.
- Download call recordings you need to keep.
- Tell your clients if you run sub-accounts for them; their funnels, calendars and workflows stop when the agency account cancels.

Can you get a refund from GoHighLevel?
| Charge | Refundable? | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly subscription | No | Terms: all fees non-refundable |
| Unused time on an annual plan | No | Terms: unused prepaid service non-refundable |
| Texts, calls, email and other communication charges | No | Terms: communication surcharges included |
| Wallet balance | Must be requested; forfeited after 30 days | Terms: wallet funds |
| Free promotional credits | No; expire after 90 days | Terms: wallet funds |
| HIPAA add-on | Can’t be cancelled or refunded once enabled | HIPAA FAQ |
| Anything else | Billing team reviews requests; credits at HighLevel’s discretion | Billing FAQ |
Summarized from HighLevel’s terms of service (June 2026) and billing FAQ (September 16, 2026). The terms also require billing disputes in writing within 30 days of the invoice date.
If you think a charge is wrong, raise it with HighLevel support in writing within those 30 days, with the invoice number. Plans auto-renew at the then-current rate, so cancel before the renewal date, not after.
Why was I still charged after cancelling?
| What happened | Fix |
|---|---|
| Stopped at the warning or feedback screen | Repeat the flow to the end and check Billing shows cancelled |
| Account was bought through another agency | That agency has to cancel it; HighLevel can’t cancel on its behalf |
| Phone number charges after cancelling | Numbers and A2P bill for 14 days, then delete |
| Removed your card instead of cancelling | Removing a card doesn’t cancel; the balance stays owed |
| Tried to cancel from a sub-account | Cancel from the agency account, Agency Settings > Billing |
| Wallet auto-recharge before cancelling | Usage charges are non-refundable; turn off auto-recharge first next time |
Should you pause instead?
If you may come back, the Pause Plan costs $27 a month and keeps your data, per HighLevel’s cancellation data article. There is no free hold: the billing FAQ says agency accounts “cannot be paused or placed on hold” without it. Two cautions. HighLevel’s terms allow it to release phone numbers or delete an account paused for more than 30 days if the account still costs HighLevel money, so port important numbers out first. And keep the export anyway.
How do you cancel one client, not the whole agency?
| Goal | Where | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Stop a client temporarily | Sub-Accounts > … > Manage Client > Actions > Pause | Workflows switch to draft, agency admins keep access, no sub-account charges |
| Remove a client for good | Sub-Accounts > Actions > Delete | 24 hours to undo, then permanent; LC Phone numbers and A2P campaigns are deleted |
| End a SaaS client’s subscription | Agency view > Accounts > View Details > Disable SaaS, plus cancel in Stripe | Wipes transaction and wallet history, so export first |
| Pay less, keep the agency | Agency Settings > Billing > change plan | Check the lower plan’s sub-account limits first |

Cancelling because the account never worked?
Many cancellations come from a build that was never finished: workflows that don’t fire, texts that don’t deliver, a pipeline nobody uses. That can be cheaper to fix than to replace. Our fix or rebuild guide helps you decide, and aibrevo’s GoHighLevel implementation service lists published prices for repair and rebuild work. If you’re leaving for another CRM, we migrate out too.
