How Do You Add Schema Markup to a GoHighLevel Website or Funnel?

Quick answer

Since October 12, 2026, every GoHighLevel website and funnel has an SEO & AEO tab with a schema dashboard. It rates schema health, flags pages with no schema or outdated schema, generates schema with AI for one or many pages, and lets you edit it by hand. Nothing goes live until you click Save and publish.

Key takeaways

  • HighLevel launched a schema dashboard at website and funnel level on October 12, 2026, under a new SEO & AEO tab (HighLevel changelog).
  • Path: Sites, then Websites or Funnels, select one, then SEO & AEO. A Schema coverage card rates the site Needs work, Getting there, Good or Excellent.
  • Each page shows its schema types and a status: Up to date, Might be outdated, No schema, Unpublished or Unsaved.
  • Generate schema with AI works on one page or many. Running it on a page that already has schema replaces that schema entirely, so review before you click Save and publish.
  • Pages edited and republished two or more times since their schema was created are flagged Might be outdated.

Where do you find schema markup in GoHighLevel?

In the SEO & AEO tab of each website or funnel. HighLevel added a schema dashboard there on October 12, 2026, so you no longer open every page in the builder to check or fix its structured data. The steps from HighLevel’s release note:

  1. Go to Sites, then Websites or Funnels, and select one.
  2. Open SEO & AEO.
  3. Check the Schema coverage card, then filter pages by No schema or Might be outdated.
  4. Select pages and click Generate schema, or use + Add schema or click an existing schema tag to edit it by hand.
  5. Review the result, then click Save and publish.

What do the schema statuses mean?

Status What it means
Up to date Schema exists and the page has not changed enough to flag it
Might be outdated The page was edited and republished two or more times since its schema was created
No schema The page has no structured data yet
Unpublished The page itself is not live
Unsaved Generated or edited schema waiting for Save and publish

The coverage card rolls these up into an overall rating: Needs work, Getting there, Good or Excellent.

Is AI-generated schema safe to publish as is?

Treat it as a draft. Nothing goes live until you publish it, which is the right design, because schema must match what the page says. Check four things before you click Save and publish: the business name and address are correct, the schema type fits the page (a service page is not a product), prices and ratings exist on the visible page, and nothing is marked up that a visitor cannot see. The generate action replaces existing schema on a page, so compare against the old version first.

FAQs

Where is schema markup in GoHighLevel?

Go to Sites, choose Websites or Funnels, select the site, then open the SEO & AEO tab. The schema dashboard lives there. You can still edit schema inside the page builder, and HighLevel says both places stay in sync.

Can GoHighLevel generate schema automatically?

Yes. Select pages in the SEO & AEO tab and click Generate schema. Progress shows live and results appear for review. Generated schema stays Unsaved until you click Save and publish, and you can discard it instead.

Will generating schema overwrite what I already have?

Yes, for that page. HighLevel states that running Generate schema on a page that already has schema replaces it entirely. Open the existing schema first, copy anything custom, and only then generate.

Do I have to do anything for existing sites?

No. HighLevel says there is no data loss and no action required. Any existing schema appears in the new tab automatically, and pages without schema are flagged No schema so you can fix them in bulk.

Does AI-generated schema guarantee rich results or AI citations?

No. Schema helps search engines and AI systems read a page, but it does not guarantee a rich result or a citation, and Google no longer shows FAQ rich results for most sites. Check generated schema against what the page actually says before publishing.
