Close CRM vs GoHighLevel: Per-Seat Pricing Against a Flat Plan
Close CRM vs GoHighLevel comes down to who makes the money: a calling team with a few reps picks Close, a business that wants funnels, calendars and texting in one flat plan picks GoHighLevel. At Close's lower listed prices, a 3-seat Essentials team already pays more in plan fees than GoHighLevel Starter.
Key takeaways
- Close lists four per-user plans: Solo ($19 or $9), Essentials ($49 or $35), Growth ($109 or $99) and Scale ($149 or $139) per user per month; the page shows two prices per plan and does not label them in the text we could read (close.com/pricing, checked Oct 22, 2026).
- GoHighLevel Starter is $97 a month ($970 a year) with unlimited users and contacts, so at Close's lower listed Essentials price of $35, three seats ($105) already cost more in plan fees; at the higher $49 figure, two seats ($98) do.
- Close bills calling and texting as usage passed through at cost (most outbound calls about $0.02 a minute, numbers from about $1 a month); GoHighLevel bills $0.00747 per SMS segment plus a carrier fee and $0.0166 per outbound voice minute.
- Close keeps call recordings for 30 days on Solo and Essentials, 90 days on Growth and without a limit on Scale, so export recordings before a switch.
- Close's predictive dialer and role-based permissions sit on the Scale plan; automated workflows and the power dialer start on Growth.
Close CRM costs $9 to $149 per user per month depending on plan and billing, and GoHighLevel costs $97 a month with unlimited users, so the plan fee decides the comparison early. Three paid seats on Close Essentials already cost more than GoHighLevel Starter at Close’s lower listed price. The better product depends on the work: Close is built around a rep calling a list, and GoHighLevel is built around a business capturing leads from ads and pages, then following up with texts and automation.
Close CRM vs GoHighLevel: which one should you pick?
Pick Close when your team’s main output is outbound conversations: calling, texting and emailing a lead list, with call coaching and a dialer that moves through the list on its own. Pick GoHighLevel when the problem is upstream or around the call: pages and forms that capture leads, calendars that book them, missed-call text back, and workflows that keep working after the rep goes home.
Close’s own home page describes the daily loop as opening a Smart View, hitting dial and letting Close move through the list (checked Oct 22, 2026). It names workflows that send emails and texts and add calls to a rep’s list. It does not mention funnels, landing pages or websites. GoHighLevel’s pricing page lists “All Core Features” in every plan and its own help center documents funnels, calendars, forms and workflows. The two products overlap on pipeline, calling, texting, email and automation, and then split.
When does each one win?
| What you see in the business | Better fit | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Reps spend the day on a call list and managers want call coaching | Close | Power dialer from Growth, predictive dialer and live call coaching on Scale |
| Leads arrive from ads and the first reply is slow | GoHighLevel | Forms, missed-call text back and instant texting workflows are built in |
| You need landing pages, a booking calendar and a pipeline in one login | GoHighLevel | Close’s pages we read do not list pages or a site builder |
| 10 or more people need to see lead history | GoHighLevel on price | Close bills each seat; GoHighLevel has unlimited users |
| Two or three closers who each earn well above a seat fee | Close | Seat cost is small against output, and the dialer is the product |
| An agency wants to resell the platform to clients | GoHighLevel | Agency Pro adds SaaS Mode and rebilling; Close sells secondary organizations at $50 each |
| Compliance team needs role-based access and lead visibility rules | Close Scale or GoHighLevel roles | Both have permissions; Close puts them on its top listed plan |
| Solo operator with a small list | Close Solo or GoHighLevel Starter | Close Solo lists 1 user and 10,000 leads; Starter lists unlimited contacts |
Read the table by symptom, not by feature count. A team can have a dozen features it never opens and still be losing leads at the first reply.
How much do Close CRM and GoHighLevel cost?
Close’s plans are per user and GoHighLevel’s are flat per account. Prices below are from each vendor’s pricing page, checked Oct 22, 2026, in US dollars.
| Plan | Price per user per month (two figures shown) | Users and limits | Notable inclusions |
|---|---|---|---|
| Close Solo | $19 and $9 | 1 user, 10,000 leads | Core CRM, call and text tools, 500 AI credits per user |
| Close Essentials | $49 and $35 | No user cap listed, unlimited leads and contacts | Built-in forms, email, calling, SMS, shared inbox, 1,000 AI credits per user |
| Close Growth | $109 and $99 | No user cap listed | Automated workflows, power dialer, custom activities, bulk email, 1,500 AI credits per user |
| Close Scale | $149 and $139 | No user cap listed | Role-based access, lead visibility rules, predictive dialer, live call coaching, unlimited call recording retention |
| GoHighLevel Starter | $97 a month, $970 a year | Unlimited users and contacts, 3 sub-accounts | Core features, 24/7 support |
| GoHighLevel Unlimited | $297 a month, $2,970 a year | Unlimited sub-accounts | Rebilling of phone and email at cost, basic API access |
| GoHighLevel Agency Pro | $497 a month, $4,970 a year | Unlimited sub-accounts | SaaS Mode, rebilling with markup, advanced API access |
Close’s page shows two prices per plan, for example “$19 per user / month $9 per user / month”, next to a “SAVE UP TO 50%” badge, and its text does not say which is monthly. The lower figure is probably the annual price because the FAQ ties savings to annual billing, but that is a reading and not a quote. This page uses both. For GoHighLevel, the plan prices match our GoHighLevel pricing explainer.
Where does a flat plan beat per-seat pricing?
With Close’s lower listed prices, Essentials costs $105 a month for 3 seats against GoHighLevel Starter’s $97 (billed monthly), so the crossover is 3 seats. With the higher listed price of $49, two seats cost $98, so it is 2. Growth ($99 lower figure) is above $97 at a single seat. The arithmetic is plan fees only.
The chart flatters GoHighLevel because plan fee is not the bill. A team that sends 3,000 text segments and talks 1,500 minutes a month on GoHighLevel would pay about $36 for texts and $25 for calls at the published rates ($0.012 per segment as a rounded carrier-inclusive figure, $0.0166 per outbound minute), roughly $61 on top of Starter. That is illustrative arithmetic. Close passes calling and SMS through at cost, so its usage line exists too. Our usage rates page lists every GoHighLevel rate and carrier fee.
How do calling, texting and automation compare?
Close is deeper on live calling and GoHighLevel is deeper on everything that happens before and after a call. Close’s pricing page lists a power dialer from Growth, a predictive dialer and live call coaching on Scale, call recording retention by plan, and a Call Assistant at $50 a month plus $0.02 a minute per organization. Calling and SMS are billed at cost: “most outbound calls are about $0.02 a minute, and phone numbers start at about $1 a month.”
GoHighLevel’s calling, SMS and email are included tools with metered usage: $0.00747 per SMS segment plus a carrier fee of about $0.0035 to $0.0050 outbound, $0.0166 per outbound minute and $0.675 per 1,000 emails, per HighLevel’s billing guides as recorded on our usage page. Its workflow builder branches on tags, custom fields and webhooks. Close’s workflows send emails and texts and add calls to a rep’s list; the page does not describe webhooks. Close lists “100+ integrations” and a documented API with per-endpoint rate limits (the organization limit is three times the per-key limit, per its developer docs), which matters if your stack is built around the API.
| Capability | Close | GoHighLevel |
|---|---|---|
| Dialer | Power dialer (Growth), predictive dialer (Scale) | Calling tools; no predictive dialer described on the pages we read |
| Texting | Included, usage at cost | Included, $0.00747 per segment plus carrier fee |
| Workflows | From Growth | Every plan |
| Funnels, sites, forms | Forms on Essentials; no pages or site builder described | Funnels, websites, forms, surveys |
| Calendars | Booking tool not named on the home page; integration link only | Native calendars with round robin |
| AI | AI credits per user, Chloe assistant, voice agent listed as live | AI products priced by usage; see the usage rates page |
| Multi-business accounts | Extra organizations $50 each; 1 secondary included on Growth and Scale | Sub-accounts: 3 on Starter, unlimited above |
What does switching between Close and GoHighLevel cost?
Moving contacts is easy and moving behavior is slow. A CSV export of leads, contacts and opportunities imports into GoHighLevel in an afternoon. What takes weeks is mapping Close statuses and custom activities to pipeline stages and custom fields, rebuilding workflows by hand, and registering US texting numbers for A2P 10DLC, which takes carrier review time whichever tool sends the messages (see our A2P registration steps).
Two Close-specific checks before cancelling. First, call recordings: Close keeps them 30 days on Solo and Essentials, 90 days on Growth and indefinitely on Scale, so a downgrade or cancellation can end access to history. Second, every extra month of overlap costs a full month of Close seats, while GoHighLevel’s 14-day free trial on Starter lets you test the build before paying. Plan a one to two week overlap and keep the old system read-only; our guide to exporting data from Close CRM covers the export step. Our CRM migration guide covers the field-mapping and cutover steps in order.
Which one should a team under 10 people choose?
A team of three to ten should choose by whether the seats are earning reps or support staff. If each seat is a closer with a call list, Close Growth at $99 to $109 is a normal cost of doing business and the dialer pays for it. If the team mixes closers, setters, coordinators and an owner who all need the lead record, a flat plan avoids paying for read-only users. Per-seat CRMs like Pipedrive sit in the same bracket as Close; our GoHighLevel vs Pipedrive comparison shows the same trade-off with different features.
When to get help
If you are moving a calling team off Close, the risky part is the first week: pipeline mapping, workflow rebuilds and text registration all land together. aibrevo implements GoHighLevel and can scope the move from your Close export; Close itself is not one of the platforms it implements, so work on the Close side is quoted per project. Book a short call or send a message, and see the GoHighLevel service page for what an implementation covers. At the time of writing, aibrevo’s published GoHighLevel build prices are CRM setup from $1,499 to $4,999 and white-label SaaS from $3,999 to $6,999.
