What Is the GoHighLevel File Size Limit?

Quick answer

It depends on where the file goes. The Media Library takes images up to 100MB and videos up to 4GB, Social Planner caps images at 10MB, email composer attachments stop at 20MB, and MMS is limited by the carrier, not by HighLevel. HighLevel lists no storage quota per plan.

Key takeaways

  • The Media Library accepts images, audio, documents and fonts up to 100MB each and videos up to 4GB. Sites and Funnels use the same limits (HighLevel help article modified Sep 25, 2026, checked Oct 22, 2026).
  • Social Planner is stricter: 10MB for images and 1GB for video. Courses allow 50MB images and 5GB video, and the CV File Upload area allows 50MB for every type.
  • Email in Conversations allows 20MB of direct attachments. Above that, HighLevel uploads the file to the Media Library and sends a link instead.
  • For MMS, HighLevel recommends keeping media under 500 KB. The carrier limits it lists are 1.0 MB on AT&T, 1.5 MB on T-Mobile and 1.0 MB on Verizon for a long-code number.
  • HighLevel's file-limits pages state no storage quota for any plan. The Storage view shows what you have used, by module and file type.

There is no single GoHighLevel file size limit. The limit depends on where the file is going: 100MB per image and 4GB per video in the Media Library, 10MB per image in Social Planner, 20MB for an email attachment in Conversations, and about 1MB for a text message, where the mobile carrier sets the cap. HighLevel’s pages state no storage quota for any plan, so the per-file number is the one that bites.

The image row is where people get caught. A 12MB photo uploads to the Media Library without trouble and then fails in Social Planner, because Social Planner stops images at 10MB. If you plan posts from the same assets you use on a funnel, export a second, smaller copy for the planner.

What is the GoHighLevel email attachment limit?

The email composer in Conversations allows 20MB of direct attachments, according to HighLevel’s attachment article. It does not say whether that is per file or for the whole message, and it names no file types. What it does say is what happens above the limit: the file is uploaded to the Media Library and inserted into the email as a clickable link. The recipient gets a link to the hosted file, not an attachment.

Two cautions. The receiving provider can apply its own limits, which the article notes without giving numbers, so a 19MB email can still be refused downstream. And a link behaves differently from an attachment for the reader: it needs a click, and a corporate mail filter may treat it more warily. For a contract or invoice, keep the file small enough to attach.

Videos uploaded to the Media Library can get an auto-generated GIF thumbnail that links to the video when you put them in an email.

What is the GoHighLevel MMS size limit?

For a text message with media, HighLevel’s guidance is to keep files under 500 KB. That is a recommendation for the broadest compatibility, not a hard limit. The carrier ceilings are the real numbers:

Carrier Long code MMS Toll-free MMS Short code MMS
AT&T 1.0 MB 0.6 MB 0.6 MB
T-Mobile 1.5 MB 0.6 MB 1.0 MB
Verizon 1.0 MB 0.6 MB 1.2 MB

Source: HighLevel Support Portal, file size limits for attachments in SMS and email, modified Sep 3, 2026, checked Oct 22, 2026. The AT&T row carries an asterisk in the source with no matching footnote on the page.

The same article says short code and toll-free numbers can go up to 5 MB and that a long code (10DLC) varies by carrier, and it calls these upper limits, not guaranteed delivery thresholds. JPEG, PNG and GIF are the commonly supported types. MP3, MP4 and PDF may be handled differently depending on carrier, device and delivery method. A text that cannot go as MMS can be shared as a Media Library link instead.

Remember that a picture changes the bill and the segment count. Our usage rates page lists the MMS price, and the SMS segment counter shows how long text splits. If a text with media stops at the carrier, the error code guide maps the failure to a cause.

How much storage does GoHighLevel give you?

HighLevel’s file-limits article states no storage quota for any plan, and the attachment article says storage limits are separate from delivery limits and gives no storage figure either. We therefore cannot tell you a gigabyte allowance, and a number quoted elsewhere is not on these pages.

What the article does describe is a Media Usage view: a color-coded bar for total storage, with a breakdown by module (Media Library, Conversations, Memberships, Contacts and Calendar) and, inside each module, by file type (images, videos, documents, audio). Open the three-dot menu, choose Storage, and click a module. For an agency with many sub-accounts, run that check per sub-account, since the view belongs to the account you are in.

When to get help

Get help when a client’s library has grown past what anyone can sort through, when course video keeps failing at upload, or when a funnel’s asset weight is slowing pages. A specialist can compress and reorganise the Media Library, move large video to a streaming host, and rebuild templates so campaign emails link to files instead of attaching them. Send a message or book a short call, and see the GoHighLevel service page for the work aibrevo does.

FAQs

What is the maximum file size in the GoHighLevel Media Library?

Images, audio, documents, fonts and contact files are limited to 100MB each, and videos to 4GB, per HighLevel's media storage article modified September 25, 2026. Sites and Funnels use the same numbers. The article lists no total storage quota for any plan, so the per-file limit is the only cap it states.

How big a video can I upload to GoHighLevel?

Up to 4GB in the Media Library and in Sites and Funnels, 1GB in Social Planner, 5GB in Courses and 50MB in CV File Upload. Supported types include MP4, QuickTime, AVI, MPEG, Ogg Video, Windows Media and WebM. For a very large file, host it on a video platform and embed it.

What is the GoHighLevel email attachment limit?

HighLevel's attachment article says the email composer allows 20MB of direct attachments and does not say whether that is per file or in total. Over the limit, the file is uploaded to the Media Library and inserted as a clickable link. Email campaigns, documents and invoices have their own limits, so check the screen you are sending from.

What size can a GoHighLevel MMS be?

HighLevel recommends keeping MMS media under 500 KB for the widest delivery. The carrier limits it lists for a long-code number are 1.0 MB for AT&T, 1.5 MB for T-Mobile and 1.0 MB for Verizon. Toll-free is 0.6 MB on all three, and short codes are listed at 0.6, 1.0 and 1.2 MB.

Why will my image not upload to GoHighLevel Social Planner?

The most likely cause is size. Social Planner accepts images up to 10MB and video up to 1GB, which is far below the Media Library's 100MB and 4GB. Compress the image or export a smaller video. Other limits come from each social network, and HighLevel's page does not list them.

How much storage does GoHighLevel give you?

HighLevel's file-limits article does not state a storage quota for any plan. It describes a Media Usage view with a color-coded bar that breaks usage down by Media Library, Conversations, Memberships, Contacts and Calendar. To open it, use the three-dot menu, choose Storage and click a module.

What file types does GoHighLevel allow?

The Media Library lists images (PNG, JPEG, GIF, TIFF, WEBP, SVG, ICO), video (AVI, QuickTime, MP4, MPEG, Ogg, Windows Media, WebM), audio (AIF, MIDI, WAV, M4A and others), documents (PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, TXT, ZIP, CSV), fonts and vCard contacts. Executable or unlisted types are not named as supported.

Why was my GoHighLevel email sent as a link instead of an attachment?

Because the attachment was over the 20MB composer limit. HighLevel's attachment article says larger files are uploaded to the Media Library and inserted into the email as a clickable link, so the recipient gets a link to the hosted file instead of the original attachment. Compress the file below the limit if it must arrive as an attachment.
