How to Export Data from Attio
Quick answer
Click Import / Export at the top right of any table or kanban view and choose Export view as CSV or Excel. For the whole workspace, an admin starts a new export under Workspace settings, General, and downloads a zip of CSV files. Enriched data comes out blank.
Key takeaways
- Any member can export a table or kanban view as CSV or Excel from Import / Export at the top right. The export includes only the columns visible in the view (Attio help center, checked Oct 22, 2026).
- Save the view for everyone before exporting, or the filters you applied are not reflected in the file.
- Attio data that came from enrichment is blank in exports. Anything entered by hand is included.
- Only admins can run the full workspace export, which downloads as a zip of CSV files covering lists, companies, people, deals, notes, tasks, comments and files metadata.
- Emails cannot be exported. Meetings and call recordings can be pulled through Attio's API.
To export data from Attio, open any table or kanban view, click Import / Export at the top right and choose Export view as CSV or Export view as Excel. Only the columns visible in the view are exported. For a full copy of the workspace, an admin starts a new export under Workspace settings and downloads a zip of CSV files. Both routes come from Attio’s help center, checked on October 22, 2026.
How do you export data from Attio?
Four steps, from Attio’s “Export lists and views” article:
- Make the table view show every attribute you want in the file. For a kanban view, the attributes shown on each card are the ones exported.
- If you filtered the view, click Save for everyone so the export reflects the filters.
- Click Import / Export at the top right of the view and choose Export view as CSV or Export view as Excel.
- Open the file in Excel, Google Sheets, Numbers or a similar app.
The same works on the views on records pages, for example People or Companies in the sidebar under Records. Export is available on all plans. All members can export records, and members with view access can export lists.
How do you back up the whole Attio workspace?
The workspace export is a separate admin tool. Go to your workspace name in the upper left, choose Workspace settings, open the General tab and click Start new export under Export Workspace data. When the progress reaches 100%, click the download icon.

| Files | Yes | Listed in the export; Attio does not say whether file contents are included |
| Workspace members | Yes | |
| Call recording activity | Metadata only | No audio, video or transcripts |
| Emails | No | Cannot be exported |
| Meetings | No | Export through Attio’s API |

Attio says its data is also backed up in the cloud. The export is for compliance, reporting or a copy that lives outside Attio. If you are leaving Attio, the emails gap is the one to plan for, because the CSV route will not carry email history to the next system.
Why is my Attio export missing columns, rows or data?
Most gaps trace to the view, the saved filters or enrichment. Match what you see:
| What you see | Cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| A column you wanted is not in the file | It was not visible in the table view when you exported | Add it in View settings and export again |
| Cells are blank for company descriptions, logos or similar | Enriched attributes cannot be exported | Use manually entered data, or copy values into a manual attribute first |
| The file has all records, not your filtered segment | Filters were not saved | Click Save for everyone, then export |
| Kanban export lacks an attribute | Only attributes shown on the cards are exported | Add the attribute to the card |
| A member cannot export | An Enterprise admin may have turned on Disable data exports for non-admins | Ask an admin to export or change the setting |
| Email history is missing from the backup | Emails cannot be exported | Plan another route, such as the API for what it supports |
| Text values start with an extra character | The formula injection protection setting is on | An admin can turn it off if your security team agrees |

Can you export from Attio and import into another CRM?
Yes, as a CSV, but treat it as a content copy, not a clone. The enriched cells are empty, the emails are absent and relationships between records come across as columns of names or IDs, not live links. Plan the mapping before you export, and look at the destination’s limits before you start. Our CRM import limits research lists row and file caps for other platforms, and the export guide for 8 CRMs shows the same step for the big names. To bring the file back into Attio later, see how to import a CSV into Attio, including the Record ID method for updating records.
Who can restrict exports in Attio?
On Enterprise, workspace admins. Under Workspace settings, then Security, then Advanced data controls, they can toggle on Disable data exports for non-admins. Admins on all plans can also switch on Protect CSV exports against formula injection, which adds a prefix to text values so formulas typed into a field cannot run when someone opens the file in Excel.
Attio’s pricing page lists “Limit CSV exports” as a feature row. We could not read the plan marks for that row, so rely on the help center statement that the restriction is an Enterprise feature.
When to get help
A one-view export is a two-minute task. The harder jobs are moving every object, list and relationship out of Attio into another system while keeping the links between companies, people and deals intact, or auditing what an export leaves behind before you cancel. aibrevo does not implement Attio, so Attio work is quoted per project, and migration into Salesforce, HubSpot, Dynamics 365, Zoho CRM, Pipedrive, monday.com, Airtable or GoHighLevel is the common request. Book a short call or send a message. Our CRM migration guide explains the order of work, and the HubSpot and Pipedrive pages describe the targets we build.
